YAKIMA, Wash -- Selah and Union Gap have a decision to make about their bus system.
Currently, they are part of the Yakima Transit System. However, the federal grant that financially supports those routes is set to run out in 2007.
Both cities are proposing an increases to their sales tax to continue the bus service. Union Gap is proposing an increase of 0.2%. While the increase in Selah would be 0.3%.
The the bus service to Union Gap and Selah will stop next summer if the increases are voted down.
The city of Selah is not taking a position on the increase. They said that if the voters want bus service to continue they will have to vote for the increase.
