YAKIMA, Wash -- Work continues on 40th Ave. Workmen began re-paving the Southbound lanes between Lincoln Avenue and Tieton Drive Monday.
Traffic could be reduced to one lane in each direction and the section should be finished by Friday. However, work will continue on other parts of 40th Avenue until its too cold to continue.
For months, 40th Avenue has been under constant construction. Traffic moves at a snails pace. But its not just drivers who are suffering.
"It's a hassle. Its maddening, Said Monica Makins, a local hair stylists, who shop is on 40th.
The owner of the salon has complained to the city -- who said that construction would be finished by mid-October, but clients still have to fight the orange cones to get into the salon.
Makins hasn't lost any customers yet but has thought about moving.
