ELLENSBURG, Wash - The Central Washington football team climbed from 11th to 7th in the latest Northwest Regional Poll. The Wildcats need to finish in the top six to qualify for the playoffs.
Central toppled #8 Augustana 34-28 on Saturday. The Wildcats have now won three in a row. Central likely needs to win its final two games to make the playoffs. CWU faces Minnesota State on Saturday in its homecoming game. A win against unranked Minnesota State might not improve Central's poll position, but the following week the Wildcats face #2 Nebraska-Omaha.
A win on the road against Nebraska-Omaha would likely push Central into the top six, and guarantee a playoff game.
