Man Traveling with Abducted Girl is Identified
KENNEWICK, Wash. - A tipster recently called police saying William Scott Rahm may have helped Michelle Finley escape with her daughter.
Heidi Rus' father said he's worried about his daughter's well being because of Rahm's background. According to the Washington State Patrol criminal history search, Rahm has over 20 convictions ranging from DUI to drug possession to not complying with a court order.
Police suspect he may have driven Finley's blue car from the Tri-Cities to Pendleton, Oregon. That's where Finley was on a supervised visit with her daughter Heidi Rus one month ago. Since then, he may have been spotted with the two in Wells, Nevada.
"I can't be frustrated I can't afford to be," said the girl's father Tom Rus.
He said he has to stay positive that his daughter will soon return home safe.
"I can't do anything where Heidi is at at this point so what I can do is put my energy into finding her safely and work with who'll work with me," said Rus.
Investigators said Finley may be trying to marry Rahm. She has a warrant for her arrest for the alleged kidnapping. Police said as soon as they can positively identify William Scott Rahm as the one who helped Finley, a grand jury will be called and he may face charges.
