KENNEWICK, Wash. - An old email scam now has a new twist. The email promises easy money, but it wont be for you.
This time thieves want you to fill out a quick survey. If you do you'll get one hundred bucks. But when you finish filling out, they've already got your bank information.
The email says Congrations! And claims to be from Fibre Federal Community Credit Union. Click on the link below to fill out a survey. But once you do look at the last few questions. It asks for your bank card number, and your pin number.
If you get an email like this don't click on the link, delete it immediately. It's not the way banks or credit unions operate.
"No financial institution is going to ask anybody for personal info to be transmitted via an email survey or any other connection. It just isn't going to happen," said Larry Hoff, CEO Fibre Federal Community Credit Union.
Hoff also said if you get this email go to Fibre Federal Credit Union's website and report it.
