The holiday season is known as the season of giving and local banks and credit unions are doing their part to help people in need. November 1st marks the beginning of the annual "Battle of the Banks."
Banks and credit unions across the area put out large green bins in their lobbies. They are hoping that when customers make a deposit at their bank, they donate food to others as well. The bank that gets the most food will be announced at the December 2nd KNDU food drive and given a trophy.
This is the third annual "Battle of the Banks". 2nd Harvest organizers say that they have no particular goals for the drive but want people to remember that every little bit helps.
