The Tri-Cities Visitor and Convention Bureau is telling community leaders and local politicians about the opportunities the Sacagawea Heritage Trail will offer the Tri-Cities.
The organization's annual meeting Thursday night highlighted how the Sacagawea Heritage Trail is uniting the Tri-Cities.
It also unveiled the "Friends of Our Trail Campaign, "a program that tries to bring in community groups to provide some of the finishing touches on the trail. A number of exhibits also helped explain the places where local businesses can use the new trail to grow.
Congressman Hastings also spoke at the meeting. He encouraged community leaders to continue improving the trail. He wants people to know how much the trail will benefit the economy. Visitors already spend almost $300 million dollars in the Tri-Cities and that number is expected to increase.
