WEST RICHLAND, Wash. - The results are in for this year's Octoberfest Food Drive.
Several dealerships from the Pasco Autoplex teamed up with Yoke's Fresh Market to raise $11,600 and fill 800 grocery sacks with a variety of non-perishable foods.
Dealers will use money from the drive to buy at least nine large pallets of food for several area food banks.
"There's a real need for these food banks to fill these shelves this time of year. There's more demand, more demand on food banks by the families."
Dealerships donated money from October car sales, and Yoke's customers purchased grocery sacks pre-filled to give to the drive.
