PASCO, Wash. - A woman said she was thankful her son and his friends were not hurt when a driver drove onto her front lawn and crashed into a tree.
It happened Sunday afternoon on the 1600 block of Shoshone Street in Pasco. The driver told police he swerved to avoid hitting a cat.
Police said he side-swiped a pick-up truck and drove up onto the lawn.
Homeowner Mitzi Veng said, "I heard a crash and I just happened to be standing by the window and I looked out and saw his car coming straight towards my house and then I heard him hit the tree."
Police said no one was hurt and the homeowner said she wanted to get rid of the tree anyway.
The car was totaled and was towed away.
