Kennewick Police Break Up Costco Burglary

KENNEWICK, Wash. - A pair of alleged shoplifters plot to steal some expensive items at Costco. Police said they had merchandise in hand and an escape route ready, but they had no idea officers were waiting for them on the other side.

Friday night police said 19-year-olds: Jordan Fink and Hajdar Iberhysaj tried to steal a set of X-Box 360's from the Costco in Kennewick.

Iberhysaj was waiting outside with the getaway car and Fink was inside ready to run out the fire escape. But when he did, he was in for a quite a surprise.

"He knocked on the door, which was supposed to signal to the suspect outside.  The officers knocked back and the suspect opened the door right into the arms of the two officers waiting outside for him," said Sgt. Ken Lattin, Kennewick Police Department.  

Police were tipped off when Costco Security got suspcious of Fink's behavior inside the store. Officers arrested the teenagers for shoplifting and outstanding felony warrants.
