Yakima River Levels Up, No Widespread Flooding Expected

RICHLAND, Wash.- With rain pounding much of Washington, some people are worried about flooding along the Yakima River, and officials think the water might rise another six feet.

The Yakima river is at about six feet, but by Thursday morning, it's expected to hit about 12 feet.

Benton County Emergency Management said the river should peak at 12 feet by Thursday morning.

They say those levels may cause some minor flooding in low lying areas.

Places like the RV park in Benton City may need to be evacuated.
