Kennedy Happy Even in Defeat

RICHLAND, Wash.- Rick Corson beat out Kimberly Kennedy for the Benton County Coroner position.

It's the first time Kennedy's ever run for office, and even though she lost, she says if given the chance, she'd do it all over again.

Kennedy was joined by her fellow democrats at Kimo's in Richland.

Results right now show her losing to rick Corson 60% to 40%, but in a largely Republican county, she thinks she made a valiant effort.

Kennedy didn't even enter the race until late August, and in a matter of months, gained enough support to make it a race.

"It's a victory just to get, you know, the percentage that I got I feel that I got a lot of support from the community, a lot of support from my family, it's been great," she said.

Kennedy says the experience was a learning one, and, if even given the chance, she'll run again.

However, she says she won't run against an incumbent, so you'll have to wait for rick Corson to retire before you'll see her name on the ballot again.
