KENNEWICK, Wash.- With control of the U.S. House and Senate changing over to the Democrats, some leaders think significant changes are in the works.
Changes in the house did not mirror changes in local leadership.
Local incumbents Doc Hastings, Maria Cantwell and Cathy McMorris all retained their seats.
Congressman Hastings hopes because nothing changed in our area, things like Hanford funding and agriculture policy will stay the same. He hopes everybody can work together to better the country.
The Congressman said he's worked hard to cross party lines in his 12 years in office, and doesn't expect to stop now.
He said groups like the Hanford Cleanup Caucus will allow him to quickly educate new representatives and bring more funding to the area.
