Regular Sex Offender Meetings Start in Kennewick

Kennewick Police tell parents how to keep their kids safe from a sex offender. Police started regular monthly meetings to talk about the problem on Wednesday night.

Police told people that 93% of victims know their sex offender. They also said that most victims are under the age of 12. They showed pictures of sex offenders and said that while sex offenders tend to be male, they can be anybody.

The meeting also showed people what places to turn to in case they need information on sexual abuse. The Sexual Assault Response Center has a number of programs that cater to many groups of different people. Future meetings will be held the second Wednesday of every month.
