Terrace Heights, WA - The search begins for a new president of Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences.
The medical school's board has formed a search committee.
They hope to have a new president in place within the next several months.
Dr. Lloyd Butler chairs the board for the new medical school. He'll be the school's acting president for now, while a search committee looks for a successor to Dr. Greg Mick.
"Dr. Mick will continue to be a friend to the university," says Dr. Butler.
Dr. Mick resigned two and a half weeks ago, so he could return to private practice as a neurosurgeon.
Now schools has put together a search committee, which includes board members and several people in the community. Dr. Butler says he will not be a candidate and they don't have a list put together just yet.
"We look forward to the opportunity to hire some with national prominence with a lot of experience."
Dr. Butler says the search to hire a new president will not impact future plans for a the school.
