KENNEWICK, Wash. - Pepper spray forced 30 people out of a Kennewick restaurant and Sunday night the suspect was still at large.
It happened at Shari's Restaurant, which is located cross from the mall.
Police said the suspect was leaving the restaurant when he sprayed the air with the pepper spray which felt a number of people with eye and mouth irritation.
The Kennewick Fire Department was on scene to provide relief for victims.
Nicole Zornes was inside the restaurant eating with friends the suspect began spraying. She said, "Everyone was coughing. My eyes were burning, our tongues were tingling. I just kind of took over your whole respiratory everything."
Police said that some people were taken to the hospital.
The suspect was described as a while male that was dressed in camouflage clothing, in his early twenties, about 5 foot 9 inches tall and about 160 pounds.
