High Winds Blow Down Power Lines

YAKIMA, Wash. - High winds in the valley are causing power outages. Pacific Power's Ed Ulmer said his crews have been busy from Sunday night through Monday.

Ulmer said there's still no power due to the high winds in some areas of Nob Hill Boulevard and in some areas of the lower valley.

He said people should be aware that high winds will cause downed power lines.

"If you happen to run into a more serious condition where you have a fire or maybe a line on somebody, stay away, keep yourselves, keep pets and animals away from downed lines and you could call 911 as well," he said.

Ulmer said people should not try to move or touch downed power lines. Instead, just call 911 or Pacific Power.
