KENNEWICK, Wash - Days of storms and flooding have left many people in Washington and Oregon in need of help.
However, before you donate to them, Washington Secretary of State, Sam Reed wants you to know how to make sure your money is used to help the victims.
To date, there haven't been any scams relating to the recent flooding, but people need to be prepared, Reed said.
Reed recommends you ask the following questions:
1. What is the name, address and phone number of the organization?
2. Exactly how will the donation be used?
3. What percentage of the money will be spent on the victims?
4. Is the charity registered with the state?
