KENNEWICK, Wash - Three people from the Tri Cities graduated from Drug Court on Wednesday night at the Benton County Justice Center.
After two adults and one high school student stuck with the program for more than a year, charges against them were erased. They shredded the evidence of their charges in front of family, friends, law enforcement and local leaders.
The graduates went through extensive drug testing, classes and life changes.
Nikki Sherman, who was addicted to meth said she has re-claimed her life.
"My absolute lowest was even after I had lost my daughter, sitting there and getting high and bawling and wishing my life were different," Sherman said.
Her life is very different now. She has her daughter back and is going to school full time.
This is the third year of drug court. However, probation counselor, Sheila Davidson said funding will run out in February.
