TIETON, Wash. - Now that tap water is flowing again in Tieton, health risks are a concern. The city sent out a letter, advising everyone to boil their water for three to five minutes, before drinking it.
The biggest concern is bacterial contamination, because the pipes were cracked. Some residents were concerned about asbestos exposure in the old pipes.
Mayor Norma Joiner says abestos crews monitored the repair work and followed code. The Yakima County Health District says asbestos usually only poses a danger when it's inhaled.
