TIETON, Wa - People who live in Tieton now have running water back in their homes. The city's public works department worked through the night with several other agencies to fix 12 water main breaks.
All 1,200 people in the town were left without water, some for the better part of three days.
Public works tells KNDO that while making repairs, they stumbled upon what probably caused them to break.
"We've had some valves closed for who knows how long. Now they're open and re-circulating the system. It should even things out," says Rich Olsen, supervisor of public works for the City of Tieton.
Olsen says people in Tieton still have to boil water until further notice because the city is still flushing the water system.
Also bottled water will be available at Tieton City Hall until nine tonight and from 12-noon to 2pm tomorrow.
