Washington State Patrol does not want to run into you after your holiday party. Patrol units in the Tri-Cities are adding one or two officers on Friday and Saturday nights. It's in an effort to catch drunk drivers.
Troopers say a DUI is not worth it. For the average person, it can cost between 5 and 10-thousand dollars and you can lose your license for at least 90 days.
Troopers say to plan right now not to drink and drive instead of after you've already had a few. They say that if you are going to travel this holiday season, you should be extra cautious between 10 pm and 2 am. That's when one in 10 drivers is drunk.
