Motocross comes to Yakima

YAKIMA, Wash -- The sport of motocross isn't for everyone. But it is for Austin Rose of Selah.

"I have broken my arm, and ripped all the tissue out of my leg," said Rose.

This weekend Rose was one of about 150 riders competing in the BooKoo Arena Cross Series at the Yakima SunDome.

Friday and Saturday night, professional rides raced around the dirt track for cash prizes. The average race is 20 laps and includes lots of big jumps and wipeouts.

The competition on Sunday included local armatures like Rose who were competing for a spot at the national finals in Connecticut in February.
