PASCO, Wash. - Horizon Air has chosen the Tri-Cities branch of Habitat for Humanity to help build The Horizon House, a new home for a single mother in Pasco.
It is the first time the company has been the major sponsor of a Habitat home; it signed over a $50,000 check to the charity Monday, Nov. 20th.
Christy Herrin will live in the 1,000 square foot house in the Terra Vieda neighborhood of Pasco, making mortgage payments which are used to build other Habitat homes. She and her boys will also put in 500 hours of labor helping in construction of the home. Horizon is offering standby tickets to employees who wish to travel to Pasco to help with the construction as well.
