Working on the Holiday

PASCO, Wash.- In some industries, even Thanksgiving is a workday.

Certain industries just can't shut down on holidays.

People are traveling, out on the roads and in the air, and because of it, airport workers and police are still on the job.

Hospitals are also in full swing, and even though they don't get the day off, for many workers, it's all just part of the job.

"You gotta be here, you gotta work, it's my shift, so I normally am here on Thursday from 8:30 to 2:30, so I gotta be here today, but it's fun cause on holidays the TSA guys cook the turkey and we brought in some treats, and, we're having fun," said Kathy Morrey, a worker at the Tri-Cities Airport.

The census bureau says the larger the business, the more likely they'll be open during the holidays.

Smaller, family run businesses usually give a four day weekend.
