Richland Police report that a tree on Abbot Street snapped in half and was knocked to the ground because of the wind.
Police said strong winds not only left a mess, but they also sets off security alarms.
Wednesday night in Richland alone police responded to nine alarms, three at the same location because the wind kept setting it off.
Police said they must respond to all of the false alarms.
