Like shoppers, plumbers are busy during the holiday season
YAKIMA, Wash -- As hungry American sit down to a turkey dinner, another group of Americans are getting ready to come to their aid. Thanksgiving weekend marks the beginning of the busy season for plumbers.
According to the yellowpages.com, more people search for plumbers in November and December than any other months.
"I will respond to double the calls this weekend," said Rob Haak, of Drains-R-Us.
Clogged kitchen sinks, disposals and toilets are the usual suspects. Cooks shovel everything from turkey skins to egg shells to potatoes peels to grease down their sinks -- and rarely us enough water.
Haak says that people should use double the amount of water and slowly feed food into their disposals. As for toilets, he says they should hold the handle down a little longer than usual.
