Comparison Shop Before You Fight the Crowds
YAKIMA, Wash. - It may be worth it to brave the cold and the crowds for Black Friday, but you can find good deals on the internet, too.
You won't find the exact products advertised in those Black Friday ads, for the same price, though. There are handy web sites that comparison shop for you, try yahoo.com, shopzilla.com and nextag.com.
If you're looking for a new digital camera, Best Buy is offering a five mexapixel Kodak EasyShare optical zoom camera for $79.99. The exact model is hard to find for less than $129.95 on the internet, but on Best Buy's web site, you can find a similar camera for $98.99.
The difference comes down to digital versus optical zoom, and by all accounts, optical is better.
There are plenty of great in-store deals on TV's, but most of them only last until 11 am or noon Friday. Wal-Mart is offering an RCA wide screen projection HDTV for $474 dollars, it'll cost you at least $800 on the internet.
Best Buy is offering a 50-inch plasma for $1699.99. If you're willing to pay about $150 more (after taxes) and avoid the crowds, try Overstock.com. They're offering free shipping, and you don't pay sales tax.
If you're a frequent Wal-Mart shopper, you may want to pick up the Xbox 360 there, because the store is offering the Pro-Console version for $399.99 with a $50 gift card. You can find the Xbox for that same price on Amazon.com, though, with free shipping, if you're willing to scrap the card.
