SNOQUALMIE, Wa - The snowy conditions did not scare too many people off the pass today, but the gamble did not pay off for Spokane's Chris Johnson who was taking his family to a birthday party for his niece. He got a flat tire.
Johnson believes he got the flat after driving over debris from that accident this morning.
He was stuck for about a half an hour with his wife and newborn baby. The jack broke while he was trying to fix the tire. He had to use the jack from our station vehicle to get back on the road.
"It's just a little bit of snow, it's not that big of a deal, you just gotta take it slow," says Johnson, "But today it just didn't work out -- I appreciate the help."
Johnson says they planned to circle the wagons after the flat tire. They were going to head to Yakima to get it fixed and then drive all the way back to Spokane.
