MESA, Wash. - Washington State Patrol said there were two accidents early Saturday morning and said ice was to blame.
Troopers said no one was seriously hurt.
Both accidents happened on State Route 17 near Mesa. The first accident involved a pick-up truck at 5:00 a.m. and the second involved a truck and happened at 7:15 a.m.
Trooper Shane Nelson was on his way to the second accident and said he had to drive really slowly.
Nelson said, "It was a sheet of ice. I was traveling about 20/25 miles an hour in an area that's a 60 zone and I was just trying to be safe and get to my destination."
With Winter on it's way Troopers said drivers need to slow down when the roads are icy, assume roads are icy when they see frost on their car and be aware of the roads.
