Ski season is here!  The early snow means an early arrival to ski season.  Many area resorts were open Thanskgiving weekend.

Managers at Mt. Spokane say the big storm normally doesn't hit until December and January.  So snow on Thanksgiving weekend is like an early Christmas present.

"This is phenomenal," said Gabe Lawson with Mt. Spokane.  "It helps out every resort. It helps us out in particular, being able to get open and get the people on the slopes as soon as possible is what we try and accomplish here and I think we've done our job very well."

But Mt. Spokane isn't the only ski area open. 49 Degrees North is open, as is Stevens Pass and White Pass.  Lookout Pass has almost identical conditions with 18 inches of new snow.  Silver Mountain and Schweitzer Mountain are also open following hefty storms this month.  Bluewood opened on Sunday.

At the Mount Baker resort near the border with Canada, spokeswoman Gwyn Howat says the total is about 100 inches, making this one of the best Thanksgiving weekends in the resort's 53 years.
