Kennewick - Eleven to twelve percent of all babies born in the Columbia Basin arrive early. And many parents of premature babies have not even begun to shop for the basic necessities for their newborn. Those who have often find the clothing is far too large for their tiny child.
The March of Dimes is collecting clothing for premature infants through December third. All of the items will be donated to Kadlec Medical Center, which serves preemies and their families in the Tri-Cities area, and to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital in Yakima.
Donation locations include Kennewick General Hospital and KGH Urgent Care in Kennewick, Kadlec Medical Center and Chickabee's Children's Boutique in Richland. You may also drop off donations at Ella Bella and Stitch N Bug in Kennewick, Quilter's Garden in Prosser, and Children's Village and Fiddlestick's in Yakima.
