KNDU's Coats for Kids Celebrate's 20th Anniversary
KENNEWICK, Wash.- This year's a milestone, it's the 20th Anniversary of KNDU's Coats for Kids, and now that the weather has turned frosty, parents and children are putting your donations to good use.
Just as fast as the coats have been rolling in, they've been going out.
Tuesday, the Salvation Army office in Pasco was packed, and officials say they don't expect it to slow down anytime soon.
Every year, the community gives hundreds of families a chance for a coat, and this year's no different.
Thousands of coats have been donated, and they're still rolling in, and as the winter cold arrives, many families say it's great to see the community turn out and help.
It's the 20th year of Coats for Kids, and this year's as good as ever, but it's not just coats for kids, anyone in need can get a coat.
As the community continues to support the drive, recipients want people to know what it means to them.
It's an event people continue to support, decades after it started.
If you want to donate to KNDU's Coats for Kids, you can drop off a new or gently used coat at a variety of locations around the area, including the Salvation Army, and to pick up a coat, you can stop by the Salvation Army on 4th in Pasco during the week, they'll help you pick one out.
