An event center opens its doors and honors Richland Firefighters. At the same time, money was raised for the Muscular Distrophy Association at Wednesday's event.
A fire in August started at Anthony's Restaurant in Richland. Firefighters quickly responded and put out the fire. On Wednesay, Anthony's got the chance to thank firefighters in a huge way.
Anthony's Vice President Lane Hoss said, "It was just a natural fit when we were going to do a community event that we would do it for the charity of choice for local firefighters, which is Muscular Dystrophy."
Richland Fire Chief Grant Baynes said, "it couldn't be better for us. It's nice to be recognized but it is great to have our charity benefit from that as well."
A ribbon cutting celebrated the grand opening. Speakers from the City of Pasco and Anthony's thanked firefighters for their efforts. Anthony's said the event was sold out and they were impressed by how many firefighters came.
