Calling For Help Just Got Easier

YAKIMA, Wash. - A non-profit organization is offering help to people needing assistance through a referral service.

It's called 211 and that's the number people can call to receive health and human services information.

People for People project coordinator Amy Peters said anyone can call the free number to get help.

Peters also said people have been flooding the lines recently because of the holiday season.

But that's causing help to be delayed

"But unfortunately, we've had such a high number of people requesting cold weather resources that many of those agencies in the community have run out of funds," she said

Peters said full service should be back during the spring.

She also said people or organizations can call 211 to donate services or money.
