KENNEWICK, Wash. - The search continued for a man who tried to steal a car.
It happened Saturday night at Jack in the Box near 10th and 395 just before ten o'clock.
A man walked outside after eating and found a thief trying to steal his 92 Honda Prelude.
Saturday morning a Toyota Tundra was stolen from 7th and Ely and found a few blocks away. Police do not think the two situations are related but said they have seen a rise in car thefts, especially when people leave their car on to warm it up.
Kennewick Sergeant Jesse Mill said, "People start their car and go back in and wait for their car to warm up. They come outside and they've given somebody a free ride in their vehicle. That happens quite regularly this time of year, so never, ever leave your car unattended and running."
The suspect from the Jack in the Box car theft is described as 5 foot 10, 150 pounds with short brown hair.
Saturday night he had on a blue hooded sweatshirt and jeans.
He was last seen running south across PUD property.
