YAKIMA, Wash. - New plans are in the works for Yakima area development.
City officials say the Yakima Urban Area Comprehensive Plan is intended to help communities guide growth and development.
A public hearing at city hall on Monday afternoon gave city officials the opportunity to hear from people of Yakima who may have ideas on the development process.
The City of Yakima's Randy Beehler said it's a large area which deals mostly with the upper valley from Terrace Heights to West Valley.
The city council and county commissioners will both decide which of the proposed amendments to the plan will be adopted.
