Reward Offered for Information About Kennewick Arsons
KENNEWICK, Wash.- Kennewick Police are still investigating a string of arsons, and now, they're putting out a reward for information on the fires.
Police will give up to $1,000 to anyone who can help them bring in the arsonist.
Police say they don't have any evidence the incidents are related, but they did take place at the same Kennewick home.
The first incident was September 25, when someone set fire to the side of this house. Then, just this past Friday, someone set fire to another side of the house.
Now, police want any information they can get on the fires that displaced a family and caused more than $50,000 in damage. Because there's no evidence the fires are related, catching someone could lead to stopping them all.
"Generally somebody that is setting fires of that category are not gonna stop until something happens and somebody's injured, that type of situation, so we're really asking the public's help, if they know of some information out there please do come forward because we do expect that the fires will continue," said Mark Yaden, Fire Marshall for the Kennewick Fire Department.
Police are also asking for any information about a fire at auto scraps on gum street.
They say someone set fire to that building as well.
Anyone with information about any of the incidents is asked to call crime stoppers at 586-TIPS or 800-222-TIPS.
