SEATTLE, Wash - It's obvious that the Mariners want to switch up their pitching staff for the next season. The M's already are without Jamie Moyer after a trade earlier this year, now they're dealing Rafael Soriano to the Braves for Horacio Ramirez. In 53 games last year Soriano threw 60 innings, racking up 65 strikeouts and a 2.25 ERA. Ramirez went 5-5, throwing 37 strikeouts with a 4.48 ERA.
Also, Adrian Beltre and Richie Sexson could be on the chopping block after the Dodgers signed Jason Schmidt who Seattle was trying to entice. Sexson and Beltre could be moved to allow for more money to attract the likes of Oakland A's pitcher Barry Zito.
In other trade news, former Mariner Freddy Garcia has been dealt from the White Sox to the Phillies.
