Senate Murray Blasts Republican Leadership For Blocking Spending Bills
YAKIMA, Wa - Senator Patty Murray blasts senate republican leadership for blocking appropriations bills that she says will help fight meth and gang problems in the Yakima Valley.
The senator used strong language on the senate floor this morning -- saying the senate republican leadership hasn't done its job. Murray says those bills include two million dollars for the Washington State Meth Initiative -- another 500-thousand dollars would go directly to anti-gang programs in the Yakima Valley.
"Now I have to go back to Yakima and tell law enforcement leaders that the funding I got was delayed and put at risk because the republican leadership doesn't want to do their jobs and pass the annual spending bills," says Senator Murray.
Time is short. The senate session ends tomorrow. Murray says the funding for meth and gang problems in Washington State has been secured since July.
