Richland - Holidays at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation looked a lot different in the forties. And CREHST museum is featuring some of the beauty and the history of the tradition this month.
You can see what things looked like at the construction camp, and learn more about how the crews and their families celebrated the holiday. Activities, some say, were so numerous that the schedule was four pages long! The emphasis however, was clear: "Enjoy these activities while finishing the job."
You'll see a Christmas tree at CREHST this year, complete with a wooden train; and kids will enjoy trying their hand at decorating it, using only a "high tech" device called a 'manipulator hand.' The museum, at 95 Lee Boulevard, is open ten a.m until five p.m. Monday through Saturday. Sundays, it's open from noon til five on sundays.
