Bobcat Sighting Near School in Richland

A bobcat sighting created quite a stir at one Richland school today.

Richland Police say someone living near Bdger Mountain Elementary School reported the sighting of two bobcats.

Police are not sure whether the person saw them last night or early this morning. Badger Mountain Principal Mike Hansen held kids in from recess and made all kids walking home get a ride from parents. He says more than 300 of Badger Mountain's students are walkers.

Hansen said, "The greater confusion comes in the office, where we got 300 kids being picked up by 300 parents and trying to account for those kids and those parents and make sure they get signed out when going home, it's a little bit tricky."

Hansen sent students that hadn't been picked up home on a bus. So far, Richland Police say no witnesses or concrete evidence of the bobcats has been found.
