Changes to Tri-Cities Animal Control

PASCO, Wash. - Angela Zilar will take the reigns for Tri-Cities Animal Control beginning March 31st.

There were four people that presented proposals for the position to city officials.  It is a three-year contract with Animal Control.

Zilar owns Happy Camp Kennel located on Chemical Road in Finley.  The decision to give her the contract was made by city officials from Richland, Pasco and Kennewick.

Zilar said her kennel will continue to operate as normal, but she will not be leading it.

Bruce Young, the current director of Tri-Cities Animal Control will remain in charge of Tri-Cities Animal Control until March 31st.

Young said he is surprised.  He said, "As you can imagine we are really shocked by this announcement, but I wish them the absolute best."

Zilar said, "I look forward to taking over and implementing some different things that I think the Tri-Cities needs."

Animal Control will continue to operate out of its location in Pasco after Zilar takes over.
