YAKIMA, Wash -- An eyewitness saw a home on fire, and alerted the family inside who didn't know their home is burning.
The fire broke out Saturday morning around 10am. Firefighters attacked the flames on the east side of the home on Chisholm Trail in Yakima.
Investigators believe the fire was started when the family dumped hot coals from a wood fire into a garbage can.
Crews cut into the ceiling of the garage to see if the fire had spread to the attic. The house was damaged but no one was hurt.
