CWU Theater Department Gets Help With Acting

ELLENSBURG, Wash. - The CWU Theater Department will now get the chance to showcase its skills around the state.

That's because money from the student and activities committee gave an extra $5,000 to fund traveling shows for students.

CWU Theater Department chair Scott Robinson said the money will be used to travel to branch campuses around the state.

"We're in kind of a unique situation in theater, unlike business where they can go out and get jobs locally," he said. "It's difficult for a theater student to go out and get a job, so it's important that we have the funds to have students and let them have that practical internship experience."

Robinson said the funds will also help students with traveling costs for a vocal jazz choir trip to New York.
