Selah Man Takes Hero Award For Saving Boy

SELAH, Wash. - A Selah man was honored as a hero on Tuesday afternoon, for saving a 2-year-old boy from a house fire on Friday night.

It's a feel good story that both the Koler and Fletcher families will remember for the rest of their lives.

If it wasn't for the heroics of Aaron Koler, the young boy wouldn't have been with his family today.

Koler, a neighbor of the Fletcher's, entered the burning house to save young Nicklaus and because of that, the Selah City Council awarded him with an "Above and Beyond" award.

"Today was just an awesome day, just being here, getting to see this little guy again and Patrick again, today was a good day," Koler said.

The Fletcher family lost their house on Friday night, but Patrick Fletcher said the main thing is that his his entire family is still alive.

The Fletcher family has received a lot of support from the community, which helped them throughout the whole ordeal.
