PASCO, Wash. - An abandoned ice house caught fire in the early morning hours Wednesday, Dec. 13 in Pasco near Oregon Avenue.
Pasco fire crews responded and decided to let the inside of the structure burn, as the building was out of use and scheduled for demolition. Chief Gregory Garcia ordered his crews to treat the structure as an unsafe building, and the crews made sure the fire did not spread to nearby brushland.
The building is along railroad tracks and is on land owned by Burlington Santa Fe, according to Chief Garcia. Fire investigators have not yet determined the cause of the fire.
