CWU's Zamberlin Plays Waiting Game

POCATELLO, Idaho. - Central Washington's head football coach John Zamberlin will know by next week if he's changing his address to Pocatello. Zamberlin's one of six candidates that have interviewed for Idaho State's vacant head coaching job.

Idaho State Athletic Director Paul Bubb told KNDO that he expects to have a decision by early next week. Zamberlin was the fifth candidate that ISU interviewed. On Wednesday, Idaho State interviewed former North Carolina offensive line coach Mark Weber.

Bubb said the search committee that Idaho State assembled to assist in finding a new coach will meet tonight. They will determine if the school needs to interview more candidates. Bubb said his main criterion is to find someone with previous head coaching experience.

Zamberlin has been the head coach at CWU since 1997. Since 2001, his Wildcats have compiled a 38-16 record.
