YAKIMA, Wash. - If you plan on traveling in the next few weeks, you may want to do a little homework before you go.
AAA expects more people to travel through this holiday season than ever before.
They estimate that over 60 million people will travel 50 miles or more from home this holiday -- an increase of over two percent from last year.
AAA's Terry Wisner said people should be aware that airports and roads will be overcrowded in the next few weeks.
"The most important thing to be aware of is to get to the airports on time, check in two hours prior, yes it seems like a lot of time but you're going to need it with the long lines and delays that go on through the holiday period," she said.
Wisner said people traveling on the roads should also allow extra time.
And if at all possible, try and stay at your destination instead of running into traffic jams.
