Mail Stolen in Canyon Lakes Neighborhoods

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Kennewick Police are sending out a warning for you to pick up your mail as soon as you can after it's delivered.      About a dozen people reported their mail being stolen Wednesday, both in the 3000 block of West 46th and in the eleven-1100 block of South Belfair.      Police say the suspect or suspects appear to only be opening mail that looks like Christmas cards, probably looking for Christmas cash. "Get your mailboxes cleaned out and be vigilant.  When you see somebody in your neighborhood that doesn't belong, especially when they're acting suspicious around mailboxes, give us a call and take a good description, take time to write down a description if you see them get into a vehicle.  Make sure you can give us information on what you may have seen and it's real important for us," said Sgt. Scott Child of the Kennewick Police Department. A plastic bag full of some of the stolen mail was found in a garbage can in the 2500 block of West 32nd Avenue. If you saw anyone suspicious in these Canyon Lakes neighborhoods or know anything about this case, call police.
